No thread on this yet? Yous guys are slippin!

Saw it earlier tonight. Fantastic movie, I loved it. Definitely my favorite of the year so far. And it scores extra points for being one of those movies that I drag my girlfriend to with her thinking she's going to hate it and then turning out loving it.

SPOILERS AHEAD:

It's not perfect, it did have some flaws. I think from a character standpoint the movie was a bit weak. Pretty much every character in the movie is flat and undeveloped except Cobb and to a lesser extent Fischer. And with the exception of Miles and Saito (who are both "funny accent" characters) the characters all seemed to speak with the same voice in the film (people who aren't writing nerds might not understand the concept of Voice in a writing context; basically it means the dialogue reads as though spoken by one person, a narrator, as opposed to multiple people, characters).

However, in my opinion, these are minor complaints when seen against the greater whole of the writing given the limits of the medium (more character development, for instance, probably would have taken the movie into 3 hour territory) and outside of that the film as a whole is brilliantly written and directed in a way that keeps a multiply layered story (my favorite kind) coherent and moving toward a clear finale.

I also loved the ending, though I think it was a bit obvious and could see it coming miles away (you had to know they were going to end it either revealing that "IT WAS ALL A DREAM, OMGZ!" or keeping you wondering if it was real or not). Sometimes the obvious ending is the right call, though. I think it would have come off forced or too "happily ever after" if they had gone in a different direction.

I want to see it again, and likely will before it leaves theaters. I'd love to see the IMAX version.

Everyone I talk to says its one of the greatest movies they have seen. I should not have watched Cyrus instead.

I absolutely loved this film. It's definitely going to be one of my top films this year.

Dude it was amazing. I think it would've been really kick ass to see in 3D. Some of those scenes would be perfect for 3D.

I went to see it with my parents and in the opening scene, as Leo DiCaprio washed up on the beach, my mum turned to me and went "Oh look! He's just come from the Titanic". As much as I enjoyed that movie, it will be forever tainted by that awesome, awesome joke.
